Today we got up really early and it was 1.1 degrees. We drove to Uluru. Dad said that the aboriginals prefer people not to climb it, but because my Grandma had climbed it in the early 70’s, I decided I would too. We left the bottom at 8:30 am. The track is just rock until it starts to get steep then it has a chain fence which is really too small, only about half a meter high. The chain goes one third of the way up and then there is a big flat spot where you can rest. The rest is just dotted lines along the rock because it is not steep and where it is, it is only a few meters. We got to the top at 9:45 am where it is very windy and freezing cold, so cold I could not feel my fingers, nose or ears. We stayed up there for a snack and Dad rang Grandma to tell her that we were at the summit of Ayres Rock. We then headed down again. While we were up there the climb had been closed due to strong winds at the summit. It was much easier going down. We got to the bottom at 11:00 am. We then went back to the caravan park and had lunch. After lunch we went back to have another look and it was open so Mum, Dana and Jemma got to climb a bit. We then went to the Cultural center for half an hour. We then headed back to the caravan park.

Quote of the day
It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll.
